Hotel Cosmos is a very nice four star hotel right beside one of Moscow´s main exhibition grounds. With reasonable pricing and a friendly atmosphere, the hotel is a great place both for business people and tourists. The hotel´s original architecture and modern style are memorable long after a guest has gone back to his or her home country. The hotel offers a magnificent panoramic city view from many of the hotel´s windows including Losiniy Ostrov (Elk Island), the Botanical Garden and Sokolniki Park. Hotel Cosmos´ image for many people is inseparably connected to Russia´s largest country´s exhibition centre, The V.V.C. (All-Russia Exhibition Centre). For many years participants of exhibitions have traditionally stayed in the hotel.

The choice of restaurants and bars, the excellent amenities including cash machines and an airline, train ticket office. Staff were also very helpful and friendly and there was a very useful information desk for first time Moscow travellers.

The Cosmos Hotel is a modern facility in an unusual location across from the VDNKh park with a Metro stop nearby. The breakfast (included) was adequate but had to be served to hundreds if not thousands of visitors per day since the hotel mainly seems to cater to large foreign travel groups. The shops and restaurants available to guests found on the 1st floor and mezzanine areas were satisfactory although a concierge service was either absent or invisible to me.

It is closed to Metro station and easy to access the center area of Moscow. Staffs at reception desk and restraunts speak English well and helpful. Meals taste good.
Didn´t like:
My group often had problem with water at the room. At midnight water stopped, or hot water did not come out. And hotel doctor did not speak English at all and was not helpful to understand us. The hotel should have a system to interpret for this urgent situation related to health.

very bad value in hotel dining - dont eat at the hotel.

The location is good very close to the metro and also infront of
the space museum. The lobby is very comfortable, the front desk people are nice and speaks a little english (some might need more english tutoring, call Dustin Habermann at 906 083-92-18. He is very good and well recommended english tutor). The room
especially the bathroom needs a little more cleaning. The carpets need a little cleaning or updating to a newer carpet so guest feels ok to sit on the floor if need be. The The views are amazing from the room. The ladies bathroom in the lobby is so clean and so comfortable to use.
Didn´t like:
The breakfast buffet is great but the breakfast staff can be a little friendlier. If they can learn basic english would be great.
The swimming pool people can be a little friendlier too and would be nice if they can learn basic english too. The fact that we have to pay 500/400 rur to use the swimming pool is a little expensive.

there was an effort to accommodate my requests (hairdrier, additional adapter, help with getting my heavy bag up to my room), staff tried to be helpful. On the whole, i´d rate the service as good rather than average, but not good enough for v. good (see below)

I stayed in an unrenovated room this time - quite horrible really, food on the premised is awful, staff still not used to smiling, you pay for access to the swimming pool/sauna and although it´s open till 11, they ask you to leave at 10.50. Currency exchange - the biggest rip off in town (40 rubles to the pound instead of 48-49)
